The Task

Launch “Burma: An Enchanted Spirit,” adventure photographer David Heath’s coffee table photo book that captures the Burmese people, their customs and culture, and the stunning terrain.

What We Did

Created a series of bi-coastal launch events while establishing David’s presence on social media and preparing his press materials in order to conduct media outreach tied to David and his photography book.

West Coast: Conceived and executed the Los Angeles launch of “Burma: An Enchanted Spirit” at Bergamot Station gallery in Santa Monica, CA, selecting the host committee, and driving attendance to the evening event, in conjunction with House Beer, and the week-long exhibition of David’s fine art prints. Generated the opportunity for David to present his work at The Battery, a private members club in San Francisco, utilizing the gathering as a means for him to connect with media and the regional Burmese community.

East Coast: Curated a series of New York City-based events to support the East Coast introduction of the book. Designed to attract audiences with an interest in travel, photography, mindfulness and philanthropy, the events came to life via collaborations forged with Urban Zen, The Path, 1 Hotels, EXHIBIT C., and Yoga Shanti. Secured a robust selection of press coverage in Outside Magazine, The Daily Mail, The Los Angeles Times, Gear Patrol, The Culture Trip, Maptia, The Diplomat and Asia Society resulting in increased awareness of David’s work and sales of his book.
